Notes
Professor Sebastian Brock, the renowned Syriac scholar from Oxford University, thinks that a few prayers and chants could be retained in the Syro Malabar liturgy as a way to keep the Syriac element accessible to the people and to hand over to the next generation. The words of Institution and the Lord's Prayer, Brock suggests, are the best. We have to wait and see how the Syro Malabar clergy responds to this idea. The Syro Malabar hierarchy seems to shy away from such ideas. We hope this video will inspire young priests in the Syro Malabar Church to think outside the box.
