This is one of the melodies that went out of use during the Malayalam era. The melody is in a free-flowing rhythm with indefinite phrasing. That could have been the reason Fr. Abel did not use this melody (see Fr. Abel's letter (15 December 1997) to Fr. Joseph Palackal on Syriac chants.......
