Notes

Qaddisa Alaaha (Kandisa alaha). Trisagion in East Syriac. Music practice for the solemn celebration of the Syro-Malabar Qurbana at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception ( http://nationalshrine.com ), Washington, D. C., on 7 September 2013. The regional practice for singers (Diocesan Youth Apostolate of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago) from the Tristate area was held at the Blessed John Paul II SyroMalabar Mission in Garfield, NJ, under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Palackal (http://TheCMSIndia.org/palackal.html) and George Thaila (composers). 19 July 2013. Communication between Dr. Joseph J. Palackal and the Major Archbishop's office in Kochi regarding the introduction of "Puqdaanakon" and "Qaddisa Alaaha" in the Solemn celebration of Qurbana in English at the National Shrine and Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Washington DC, on 07 Sept 2013 - Download Delix Alex Joseph: Choir Master and Keyboardist. Alvin George: Violin. Recorded and edited by Delix Alex Joseph. See this chant at the actual celebration at the National Shrine on 7 September 2013 http://youtu.be/aJnk78G_bX4 Note: The melody of the three incipits are better in the practice session than in the actual Qurbana at the Shrine. Notice the difference in Dr. Palackal's solo rendition of "Alaaha" at the rehearsal, and at the actual Qurbana at the Shrine. See the other Syriac chant sung on this occasion ("Puqdaankon"): See Dr. Joseph Palackal's correspondence with the Major Archbishop's Office regarding the introduction of the two Syriac chants during the Qurbana in English:
